Can I just drop off my instrument at any time?
I would prefer that you contact me via email first. Unfortunately I don’t have the space to keep an unlimited amount of instruments. I try to take in instruments at a rate that will allow me to get the finished in a reasonable amount of time.
What is your turnaround time?
For setups and other smaller repairs I try to turn them around within 1 week but much depends on the amount of work I have in the shop. More extensive repairs may take longer and it is often hard to calculate a time for complex repairs.
Can I bring my instrument directly to your shop?
No. I have a small private shop that is not set up for customer traffic. I have a great relationship with the stores that I work through and they provide a valuable component of my services. They have regular hours, offer great advice, stock strings and parts necessary for repairs, and handle financial transactions. I am available by phone or email to answer questions and am always willing to meet you if necessary to discuss your instrument.
Are your prices the same at all of the locations you work through?
Yes. My prices are the same regardless of the store you choose.
Do you have expedited service?
No. I have never been comfortable with charging extra for faster service while other people wait longer for their repairs.
What type of instruments do you work on?
I work on most fretted stringed instruments.
